In Austria the European Network and Information Security directive was transposed into the Network and Information Systems Security Act (NIS Act). This Federal Act lays down measures designed to achieve a high level of security of network and information systems of operators of essential services.
Every three years, operators of essential services must provide evidence, that suitable security precautions have been taken.
