Kick-Off Panel for the 38th Alpbach Finance Symposium
The 38th Alpbach Finance Symposium took place in peaceful Alpbach in October 2024 and we are proud to have been invited to open the event, following the Austrian Finance Minister Magnus Brunner, for the many CEOs, CFOs and treasury managers
The focus of the kick-off panel was an exciting high-profile discussion by Markus Deimel, Group CIO of the Vienna Insurance Group, Alexander Hochmeier, Vice President Information Technology & Security of FACC AG and Heidelinde Rameder, Head of Cyber Security, CISO of Borealis AG on the topic of "Current threats from IT and Cyber Risks". Our Managing Director Thomas Hackner was able to moderate this panel and, opened together with Roger Halbheer, Chief Security Advisor at Microsoft, with an exciting short presentation and live hacking session.
Thomas Hackner summed up the panel as follows:
"Cyber security is not just a technical topic, but also requires the coordination of technology, processes and people, so they can work together. This topic cannot be implemented by the CISO alone, but requires active cooperation with management and specialist departments, as well as a collaborative approach, in order to safeguard companies."
